EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES THROUGH DIGITAL SKILLS.
Whether it is applying for jobs, starting a small business, or furthering one’s education, basic to advanced computer skills are essential. Many young people and community members have the drive and potential to succeed but lack access to computers and structured training. Our computer classes are designed to bridge this gap by providing hands-on training, interactive learning environments, and real-world practical experience.
Our curriculum is structured to accommodate complete beginners as well as those looking to build advanced technical skills. Key areas covered in our training include:
- Computer Basics & Operating Systems: Understanding hardware, navigating desktop environments, and managing files efficiently.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Master essential everyday tools like Word (document preparation), Excel (data analysis and budgeting), and PowerPoint (creating effective presentations).
- Internet & Communication: Safe web browsing, online research, effective email communication, and leveraging digital tools for collaboration.
- Graphic Design & Multimedia: Introduction to visual design concepts, media creation, and digital branding tools for creative minds.
- Digital Skills for Business: Teaching small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs how to use digital platforms to promote their services and keep records.
At YAWE Social Enterprise, we prioritize practical, hands-on learning over theory alone. Every student gets dedicated time on a computer to practice what they learn, guided by supportive and experienced instructors. As part of YAWE Foundation, the revenue generated through YAWE Social Enterprise initiatives—including our Computer Department—goes directly back into supporting community development, youth empowerment, and social programs.
